Respite (Take a Break)

Respite (Take a Break)

Caring for a loved one can be physically and emotionally demanding. We are here to offer carers a break from looking after a loved one while they take some much needed time to themselves. By taking a break you may reduce stress levels for both you and your loved one and this will likely improve your relationship with them too.

Loved ones also benefit from Respite as they can have a break from their usual routine and stimulus and get to interact with someone other than their carer.

Whilst caring for a loved one, you can rest assured that they are in very safe hands. Together we can build a care plan tailored to the needs of you and your loved one. We can offer regular daily or weekly respite.

You may require respite care for some of the following reasons:

  • Being discharged from hospital
  • Post-operative support at home
  • Unexpected illness, or a short-term deterioration in health due to sickness or -infection
  • To provide a confidence boost after illness or even a bad fall
  • Family members and loved ones who act as informal carers needing extra support, time to rest or take a holiday
  • Private carers requiring cover due to holiday or sickness

During the period of respite we can help with the following

(please note that this list is not exhaustive and we can usually accomodate requests):

  • Personal care
  • Medication
  • Preparation/assistance with mealtimes
  • Companionship/games/puzzles/reading
  • Household chores
  • Shopping

Drop us a message below and we'll be in touch to discuss how we can help.
